Our Park's Fountains: A Feat of Engineering
The recent hurricane was a once-in-500-year event, causing widespread flooding throughout the city. However, the fountains in our park were able to withstand the deluge and even had room to spare! This is a testament to the incredible water management system that was built into the park's design.
The photos below, shared by Bob Hughes, show the fountains in action during the hurricane. As you can see, the water level in the fountains remained relatively stable, even as the surrounding area was inundated.
This is just one example of how the money spent on our park has provided a major benefit to the surrounding area. The park is not only a beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature, but it is also a valuable asset that helps to protect our community from flooding.
